Then there are the strips that I cut in order to make miniature versions of Kevin's trees, but I was trying to make them 2/3 the size of Kevin's and the math got to be too much for me. :)
Take a look at the beautiful bundle of fabrics that arrived from Vic! I have been spoiled rotten--kind of fun! : )This should inspire many new little creations!!

Beautiful , thank you for sharing your home with us this year, too. I can actually see all the work you have been busy with. Those lights are spectacular and take lots of time. I barely got a small tree decorated this year.

Love all of your pretty lights and decorations. And I really love those pinwheels - great fabric, and the print with the words....I need that! Word fabrics and stripes always get my attention, and this one qualifies as both.

ReplyDeleteYep, 1 inch squares will work. It doesn't really matter what length the neutral strips are because you can just trim them when the block is done. I'm going to make one, they are cute.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE all your lights. I do leave one of mine up year round - I didn't have under-counter lights in the kitchen so I have a string there. It's just enough sparkle to be pretty and allow me to grab a snack or whatever without turning on all the fluorescent lights. I love that you can hang them from the balcony too! Oh and I can understand why the math might slow down a project...

It was fun looking at the fabrics in your pinwheels and recognizing many of them from my own stash. Your home looks wonderful. You can never have too many sparkly lights. Maybe just draw your own trees on graph paper and go from there.

ReplyDeleteLovely Christmas lights! That little project will wait until you've had time to catch your breath from all the decorating and just enjoy the fruits of your labor. Not much stitching going on here either, unfortunately. But we did buy a Christmas tree yesterday, so that's a start on the decorating, or will be when the snow melts off the branches and it dries a bit so we can bring it inside!

But NEXT year I'm hoping to do up the whole house like I used to - will be watching for BIG trees on clearance after Christmas since we'll need one with the taller ceilings.
